Malaga Airport is situated 8 km from Malaga city centre and is the main airport in Andalucia.
Malaga Airport operates from 2 terminals ( terminal 2 and terminal 3 ).
There are plenty of shopping facilities at Malaga Airport. Shops include Aldesa duty free, souvenir shops, newsagent, Spanish foods specialties, several bars, cafés, cafeterias and restaurants. A post office, pharmacy and bank are also amongst the facilities at Málaga Airport.
Getting to Malaga from the UK and Ireland is very easy. The following airlines are flying into Malaga Airport; Monarch Airlines, Easy Jet, British Midland, Channel Express, Thomsonfly, GB Airways and Flybe.
The most convenient way to travel is to hire a car so that you have freedom and flexibility during your stay in Spain. Nettocarhire.com is a good choice for low cost car hire with no hidden extras.
The city bus stop is placed in front of arrivals hall in terminal 3 and there is a bus going to the city centre every 30 minutes. The last bus leaves the airport at midnight.
The taxi stop is also placed in front of terminal 3. Long queues for taxis are normal and only 4 persons are permitted in one car.
The local train runs from Malaga city centre to Fuengirola and has a stop at the Airport. The stop is accessible by crossing from the terminal and following the signs to the station. The train leaves the airport every 30 minutes.
At this moment the airport is undergoing extensive building work as better access roads are being constructed. We recommend that you allow extra time for returning the car to the car hire supplier as there may be traffic queues getting to the airport.
