There are many places along the Costa de Sol that were made with children in mind. If your family loves animals, then a visit to the Fuengirola Zoo is in order. This modern, animal-friendly place is located only a few minutes from downtown and it features animals from around the world. The zoo opens at 10:00 AM daily and is located on Avenida Camilo José Cela, Fuengirola. Call 952 666 301.
Cordoba offers a relatively small city zoo called Parque Zoológico de José Cruz Conde. It is located at Avda del Linneo and features about 200 different animals including tigers, elephants, llamas, and reptiles. If you are in the area, you might want to give it a try. By far, the largest animal attraction on the Costa del Sol is Selwo Park. It encompasses around 100 hectares and is home to some 2000 animals which come from 5 continents. The animals roam free in a semi-natural habitat and visitors are taken on tours by truck and on foot. Selwo is open daily from 10:0AM to 7:00 PM and it is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. They are located at Ctra. If your family is a little more adventurous, why not make a trip to the Lobo Park? Located just outside the charming mountain village of Antequera, Lobo Park is a world-renown sanctuary for a variety of the animals including the Iberian wolf, the European wolf, the Timber wolf, and the snowy white Polar wolf. The park also contains a petting zoo and horseback riding. It is open year-round from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and it has guided tours in English as well. Lobo Park is located on Ctra. If your interests lean more toward our reptilian neighbours then Crocodile Park in Torremolinos is sure to be a hit. Europe’s only crocodile zoo houses 300 of these cuddly creatures which range from babies up to 500 kg behemoths of 5 metres in length. The park also features a children’s mini zoo with deer and ponies and a crocodile nursery. It is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and can be reached by calling 952 051 782. Crocodile Park is located at C/ Cuba, 14, only 15 minutes from the centre of Torremolinos.
